We are supporting the new beginning of Ishinomaki.
Let's begin the first phase of the campaign with "Ishinomaki Ishizue Project".
Through the act of bringing people from around the world together through their wishes and support with WA Project, we have had the opportunity to meet various people.
With that, we decided to introduce those who, in the affected areas in Japan, are taking the next step to move on from the aftermath to the people of the world.
We will be launching the "Love Click Campaign", a project to directly relay messages of support from the people of the world to these activists by gathering "LIKES"s, as well as listening to their ideas to create a more effective support system.
Our first step will be in supporting Ms. Kyoko Sasaki, who is contributing to the rebuilding of the city of Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture by donating profits from the sale of her post cards and T-shirts.
Ms. Sasaki, within the sadness encompassing her after the loss of her parents and home, thought, after receiving donations from a friend in London, "They are supporting us from across the ocean. Can I not do anything?", and began activities with her friend, Ms. Kumi Kawamura.
"Ishizue", the name of the project, carries with it the message of "Not to earthquakes or tsunamis, nor to the confusion that will follow after, will we lose, and will together build a new begining, or ´Ishizue´, which will stand strong against all." This same message is expressed with the calligraphy of professional calligrapher Mr.Chiba Sougen postcards.
As of the end of July, the postcards were given to the volunteers who had aided as a sign of gratitude, and the T-shirts.
As of the end of July, postcards and t-shirts were purchased by members of the Ishinomaki community. Postcards were then presented to volunteers who had aided in the area as signs of gratitude, while the t-shirts are worn mainly by those in Ishinomaki.
However, to take the next step in building the activities for a more long term program, we would like the world to know about Ms. Sasaki's activities and about Ishinomaki, so as to spread its knowledge out to the people outside of the affected areas and overseas. We eagerly await everyone's support and cooperation.
